The "Le Rune" restaurant, in the medieval atmosphere of the City Hotel Genoa, is a restaurant that continually seeks the right flavours for its guests, without ever neglecting the quality of ingredients.

Alberto, chef of the hotel since 1997 and assisted by Manuele and Katia, prepares delicious dishes, selecting fresh ingredients every day from the markets of Genoa.

Traditional dishes of Ligurian cuisine are served by Simona, Eleonora, Gabriella and Francesca who, graciously and discreetly, recommend local wines and olive oils.
The City Hotel wishes "buon appetito" to its guests and reminds them that "Le Rune" brings...good luck!

The Runes (Le Rune) have been historically identified as the ancient origin of the Germanic alphabet. At an etymological level the word in ancient Germanic dialects means "mystery" or "secret" and is related to the Gaelic term "run".

According to Norse mythology Odin gave these secret signs to mankind to assist its evolution, and popular tradition holds them to be the secret alphabet of the Vikings. In addition, legend has it that Odin sacrificed himself to gain The Runes, which were often used for divinatory or propitiatory purposes.

The force of The Runes is hidden inside the symbols themselves, with the vertical and diagonal lines indicating the journey between Ego and Super-Ego. Each symbol is associated with a sound, a syllable, a letter of the alphabet.
