Genoa is a city of contrasts where the symbols of an antique and glorious past live side by side with the buildings of the new Genoa, a city open towards the future.

Our 4 star City Hotel, located in the old city center, enjoys a strategic position for those who wish to visit the main tourist and business sites, or to participate in the events that Genoa has to offer: from art to culture, from tradition to innovation, from sea and mountain views to typical flavors… you will not believe the variety that this city has to offer!

Genoa proposes itineraries for all different tastes: you can dive into history by walking through the maze of streets in the old city center, treat yourself to healthy walks through nature surrounded by breathtaking views, or follow the trails tread by great artists, writers and poets. Let´s not forget that Genoa is and has been the city of illustrious characters such as Christopher Colombus, Giuseppe Mazzini, Nicolò Paganini, Fabrizio De Andrè, Renzo Piano, and Lele Luzzati.

When in Genoa, do not forget to visit these sights:

Aquarium. Located in Porto Antico, this is the largest marine park in Europe with its 71 tanks, 800 species and over 10,000 marine specimens. Discover our special “Genoa Aquarium” offer at the Best Western Plus City Hotel.

Porto Antico. It represents the old and modern cities. Here you will find historic symbols like the Lanterna and the view of the ancient palazzi della Ripa Maris, as well as the modern Bigo and Bolla di Renzo Piano, the Aquarium structure, the Magazzini del Cotone, and the Galata Sea Museum.

Palazzo Ducale.
Located right in the old city center, antique residence of the Dogi and current venue for large and prestigious events.

Palazzi dei Rolli. World Heritage according to UNESCO, this is the residence that the old Genovese nobility used in the past to host the illustrious visitors from the Republic of Genoa.

Via Garibaldi and the Strada Nuova Museums. The old city center of Genoa, also known as the “aristocratic quarter”, offers a wonderful museum route between Palazzi Bianco, Rosso and Tursi.

Galata Sea Museum. At the heart of the Antique Port (Porto Antico) you will find 10,000 square meters of exhibition areas belonging to the largest Mediterranean museum dedicated to the sea.

San Lorenzo Cathedral. Built around 1100 and enlarged gradually throughout the centuries, this ancient temple holds the ashes of St. John the Baptist, patron of Genoa.

Palazzo Reale. Home of the nobility, mansion of the House of Savoy and splendid National Museum located at the heart of the magnificent Via Balbi (XVIIth century).

Principe Doria´s Palazzo. Built by Andrea Doria, Admiral of Emperor Charles V, this is the only mansion from a Republican city.
